Albuquerque

Some years ago I was coming back from a cross country trip and I stumbled into these petroglyphs on the edge of the sprawl of Albuquerque. There’s a path that winds around the hill taking you in turn to each cluster of drawings and I thought it funny how the old, Indian-drawn markings had been overlaid with later scratching from settlers and vandals. Then the park service had come in and added all of their own signs to these layers. I thought I would join with my own signs, however ephemeral.
